If you’re set on having a stunning beach wedding in Puglia, you have arrived. With over 800km of gorgeous white sand, there is no shortage of locations to tie the knot, but beachfront is by far magical. Besides the location itself, the cuisine, dancing, and generous Apulian hospitality will leave you with memories of truly unique nuptials you and your guests will treasure for years to come.
Why Puglia?
So, why choose Puglia? This region in the South of Italy is rising in popularity to tie the knot in and differs from the more mainstream Italian destination wedding locations of the Amalfi Coast, Lake Como, Sicily, etc., thanks to its focus on laid-back, family-style hospitality. Being in the South of the Italian peninsula, it is also known for its reliably good weather, which is always important to take into account for an outdoor wedding. Additionally, there are fun traditions local to the area such as tarantella dancing, delicious regional cuisine, and even a habit of locals passing by the ceremony venue to wish you well on your wedding day.
Together, these make for a beach destination with warm people and great hospitality, that isn’t over-the-top, but certainly will never be forgotten. Don’t forget to visit the clandestine beaches in the region; our team can help you to organize fun day trips for the group.
Consider This
When going about choosing the setup and schedules for the beach wedding, it’s good to think about the following questions:
These questions are important, and if you haven’t already downloaded our brochure, just send us your request via the website. All things considered, Coco Beach was built to host the beachfront wedding ceremony and wedding parties on location, with the option to remain outdoors or leverage our chic indoor space. However you choose to design the venue, we can customize it for your big day.
Food
One of the next major considerations (especially for beach weddings in Italy) is what food you want to serve. It’s always helpful to first decide if you plan to have your meal sit-down or buffet style. Pasta local to the region includes orecchiette, troccoli, sagne, and capunti. For vegetables, cherry tomatoes and olive oil are huge in this region, as are lampascioni, barrattiere, and cime di rape. As for meat, lamb and goat are very popular, and pork can be found on special occasions as well (which we whole-heartedly believe a wedding qualifies as). For fish, mussels, tarantello, octopus, cuttlefish, and anchovies are all easy to source. If your guests are vegan and/or vegetarian, we can curate a menu to include the legumes and ingredients most important to you. You’ll for sure have to serve some burrata which originated from this region. And of course, don’t forget to make sure the wine is flowing aplenty, as it is a region renowned for its reds and rose. Couples can book a tasting after they’ve secured their date at Coco Beach.
Dancing
As they say, “When in Rome…”, well, when in Italy at any rate, you will want to take part in local Apulian traditions such the folk dance that has been around for centuries in the area, known as “pizzica” or “tarantella”. These folk dances can be incorporated into the reception in combination with other music of your choice for a very authentic Italian wedding.
No Better Place
One thing is for certain, there is no better place for a memorable beach wedding than Puglia. Do be sure to investigate whether this is the perfect location for you!
